cognac bourbon

You’re at the liquor store and you want to treat yourself. What do you get?
Are you a bourbon sort of guy or do you want to get crazy with some tequila? Would a rum and coke see you through the holiday party or will you need a full-bodied scotch? Are you particular with your cognac or will a nice comfortable beer suffice? Be specific and not vague. 10 points goes to brand names. Will you have a Grey Goose and Ocean Spray or will it be a nice big red plastic cup filled after tapping a keg of the Beast?
If I’m in a “treat myself” kind of mood, there’s actually quite a few go-to drinks I have.
1) I love mojitos…and yes I hate that they’re suddenly this next big thing like it’s a fashion accessory or something….I liked them BEFORE they were a status symbol. I like them made the real way (not with a mix): fresh lime, muddled mint and sugar, and definately Bacardi. I tend to have them with heavier meals because they’re light and slightly sweet.
2) Bailey’s….yah it pretty much doesnt matter what you do with it. Although, for the holidays I like to mix some coffee (made in french press only) with hot chocolate mix. Add some crushed peppermint and a shot of Baileys. Top with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. Perfect hot cocktail for a cold day.
3) Di Saronno on the rocks. Simple, warming and cool all at once.
4) White Russians. Y’know…because the holidays don’t add enough calories! Rofl How can anything with milk/cream and Kahlua be bad?!?!
5) Good ol’ Coke and Bacardi Gold. It’s quick, easy, and goes with pretty much any mood.
